It is a cave in which Prophet of Allah along Hazrat Abu Bakr took refuge form the people of Quresh, while he was emigrating from Makkah to Medina. The Holy prophet with his companion Hazrat Abu Bakr stayed there for three days, while people of Quresh was hunting holy prophet because he was advancing Islam. Holy Prophet and Hazrat Abu Bakr remain hidden there for 3 days.
The son of Hazrat Abu Bakr spent is night nearby and went to Mecca on every early morning and gather the information and give them, While the slave of Hazrat Abu Bakr provides them with eatables and fresh milk of goats. And the son of Hazrat Abu Bakr hides his footsteps so that nobody could chase him. These were who spent there 3 days in the cave of thawr.
After a time, span of three days when they came to know that people of Quraish as stopped searching them, they came out and started their journey again to the medina and the daughter of Hazrat Abu Bakr provided them with food on their way to Medina from the mount of thawr.
